[SaDPhIG] abstractness

SaD-PhIGgies:

I'm finally done with this overdue paper on abstractness that I've been 
writing for what seems like forever. To really make it final in my mind, 
I thought I'd share it with our small corner of the world before it 
eventually appears in print. Assuming the editor accepts it pretty much 
as-is, this will appear in the "Viewpoints" section of the March issue 
of _Studies in Hispanic and Lusophone Linguistics_. So it's basically an 
opinion piece, which is why it reads the way that it does, me just 
laying down what I think and how/why I think it. (It's also what made it 
harder to write than almost anything else I've ever done...)

Anyway, enjoy -- the rest of your weekend, not the paper, though you 
might find that not-so-bad, too.
