Dear SaD-PhIGs,

This week:
We meet to discuss McCarthy's "Harmony in Harmonic Serialism" paper.
The discussion will be led by Noah and Sharon. If you haven't already
started in on this 53-page paper, you may be inclined to read the 22-
page "shorter (and better) version" entitled "Autosegmental spreading
in Optimality Theory". Sharon notes that this version "doesn't have
the emphasis/directionality discussion that the longer paper had", but
that she and Noah and summarize that for us.

Next two weeks:
We have agreed not to meet next week (Weds. before Thanksgiving), but
we'll reconvene on Dec. 2 (Week 10) to hear from Bozena on her work.

Next quarter?
We should probably start thinking now about when we can meet next
quarter. I've set up a poll for this purpose; please take some time in
the next couple of weeks to confirm your available times. Keep in mind
that several folks may be at the LSA during Week 1, so we may not have
our first official meeting until Week 2 (Jan. 11-15).

-- Eric
