Sad news sad phiggers (phiggies?)

After a lengthy discussion with Rachel, a long hard look at my progress 
on this project (past, present, and prognosticated), and a little bit of 
soul searching I've decided to postpone it for a slightly later date 
(that is: not to use it as my comps paper project).

The main reason is that to many bits of my design (from stimuli type and 
presentation to data collection and analysis) has a ton of flaws which 
are only surmountable given more time.  So to try to run subjects in the 
next two weeks would only be a waste of my time and, more importantly 
(arguably), theirs.

I have not given up hope on the project, and I very much hope to start 
running people before quarter's end (so that I can have the summer to do 
the analysis).  I simply can't justify trying to rush through a bunch of 
trials using a flawed design and a flawed plan for analyzing the data 
which itself is likely to be flawed.  I hope you all understand and that 
those of you who are in a position to judge me in an academic sense 
aren't terribly disappointed.

Therefore, with respect to this Friday's meeting, I won't have much to 
share so I hope someone else can take up the time scheduled to me.
