Dear all,
Can everyone please let me know if they can attend the reading group
next Friday (Finals week) and the following Friday (Spring Break)?
They may be canceled due to low attendance.
For next quarter, I am going to be teaching Cogs 272, a grad-level
seminar course on Computational Models of Neural Coding in Sensory
Systems. It will meet once a week to discuss a theoretical modeling
paper of sensory processing (in addition to two lectures co-offered
with a Cogs 160 seminar course for undergrads, required for grad
students officially registered for the 272) -- the format will be
similar to a journal club, but a bit more formal/structured.
I'm not sure that aside from my two classes that I will have time to
organize/attend the probcogsci reading group. I wonder how you would
feel if we were to just combine it with Cogs 272. If you a student,
you can enroll and get credit for it (it satisfies the computation or
neural issues requirement in cogsci; for neurosci students, we can try
to petition to the program to have it count as an elective, if there
is interest). Otherwise, everyone is welcome to attend informally.
Please let me know!
Best wishes,
Angela
