Dear Mike,

Thanks for reminding me. Yes! I was thinking about this paper by Yee-
whye:
http://www.gatsby.ucl.ac.uk/~ywteh/research/compling/acl2006.pdf

This was a model proposed for natural languages (and also has power-
law properties), and so may especially appeal to the language modeling
members of our reading group.

The newer paper you referred to also looks very interesting, and in
fact finds a formal relationship between a new model with the old model.

I suggest that we read the 2006 paper first, and then see if we want
to continue with the newer paper the following week.

Mike, do you think you can lead the discussion on the 2006 paper at
our first meeting on Jan. 29?

Thanks,
Angela
