Let the decimal system do it for you: a very simple utility function for OT

Abstract:
A pen-and-paper procedure turns OT violation profiles into
numerical values that faithfully reproduce the harmonic
order on candidates, no matter how many candidates there
are, no matter how many violations or how many constraints.
The method belongs to the family of utility functions introduced
in Prince 2006a, providing a huge simplification of the
techniques discussed there. Some general properties are
noted which distinguish an actual OT utility function from
weighted-sum approximations.
