Dear members of the Optimal List,
When the list was recreated last October 15, there were some spurious
messages generated from list members whose e-mail accounts were no longer
valid. Unfortunately, a large number of e-mails was generated and sent to
multiple members of this list.
The new list software we installed last week should not generate any more
bounces. However, there were some messages remaining on remote servers on
the net, which returned to bite us again a month later.
We've now explicitly restricted any and all bounces from Mailer-Daemons on
the net, and so if there are any straggler bounce messages remaining they
will not be passed on to the Optimal List when they return. As an added
precaution, we've also removed a large number of invalid e-mail addresses
that were still subscribed to the Optimal List.
We apologize for any harm or hazard these messages may have caused you.
