The Center for Research in Language (CRL) <http://crl.ucsd.edu/> hosts a
weekly Seminar Series <http://crl.ucsd.edu/talks/> on Tuesday afternoons at
4pm, in the CRL conference room (CSB 280). The talks are generally preceded
by a "Happy Half Hour" at 3:30 in CSB 215 up the hall. *All are welcome!*
Future talk notifications will be less broadly distributed, so if you'd like
to stay up-to-date, please add yourself to the CRL Talks mailing list at:
http://crl.ucsd.edu/mailinglists/

This coming week -- *Tuesday, January 6, at 4pm, in CSB215 (not 280)* -- we
will be having the Winter quarter organizational meeting to plan this
quarter's speaker schedule. This first meeting should only last until 4:15
or so. If you are interested in giving a talk but cannot attend the
organizational meeting, please send me or Vic Ferreira (ferreira at
psy.ucsd.edu) a note (replying to this email is fine) with the dates that
you would like to give the talk. Please also let us know if you know someone
who might be interested in (or could be coerced into) giving a talk. Dates
will be handed out on a first-come-first-served basis.

*What: *CRL Organizational Meeting
*When: *Tuesday, January 6, 4:00-4:15pm
*Where: *CRL Lab (CSB 215) -- not in 280, as construction is still in
progress

The CRL seminar series will resume the following Tuesday, January 13, with a
talk by Wendy Sandler from the University of Haifa ("The Kernels of
Phonology in a New Sign Language"). Future talk notifications will be sent
to the talks list exclusively.

See you soon!
Jamie.
