Henry asked me for a Java book recommendation. A pretty good
introductory book is Bruce Eckel's "Thinking in Java". It's published
by Prentice Hall but is totally free online:

If you are already an experienced Java programmer, I highly recommend
the following books by Joshua Bloch:
1. Effective Java Programming Guide
2. Java Puzzlers: Traps, Pitfalls, and Corner Cases
