[Lign251] installing JAGS

For those of you who weren't here Thursday, try this:

1) go here:

  http://calvin.iarc.fr/~martyn/software/jags/

and download JAGS (either .exe or .dmg), and install it on your computer.

2) Make sure you're running R version 2.8 (go to

  http://cran.r-project.org/

  to download the latest version if you need it.)

3) If you're on Windows, install rjags directly from within R.

4) If you're on OS X, download this file:


http://idiom.ucsd.edu/~rlevy/rjags_1.0.3-4_R_i386-apple-darwin8.11.1.tar.gz

  then open a terminal window, go to the directory where it was
downloaded, and execute


  sudo R CMD INSTALL rjags_1.0.3-4_R_i386-apple-darwin8.11.1.tar.gz

5) restart R and try

  library(rjags)

It should work.
