[Lign251] homework 5; reading for Monday

Hi everyone,

A short interruption to the festivities...

I finally completed Homework 5 and put it online.  The due date is next
Wednesday (but later in the week is fine too).  It shouldn't be too bad.

Also, I scanned the Weiner & Labov article into a PDF and put it on the
course website.  I want to *start* class Monday with a short discussion
(~20min) of the article.  Then we'll move on to mixed-effects models.

Those of you who haven't talked with me about a final project should
probably do so some time next week.  I'll be gone from December 5
through December 15.
